Laser Probes

Talented surgeons want only the best tools in the operating room, and Synergetics consistently offers the high quality tools and products used by top retinal surgeons. Our laser probes are no exception. With our extensive lineup of high-performance laser probes, developed with guidance from retinal surgeons worldwide, Synergetics continues its tradition of giving doctors innovative surgical tools that meet infinite expectations.

Directional II

With a patented “moving-tube” design that allows the fiber to maintain a fixed distance from the retina, the Directional II Laser Probe is an innovative new addition to the Synergetics lineup. Among its other notable features:

  • Fiber orientation adjusted via finger wheel rotation
  • Comfortable, silicone rubber grip handle featuring the ergonomic profile of the Pinnacle 360◦™ and color-coded for easy gauge identification
  • Rotate wheel distally to straighten fiber
  • Rotate wheel proximally to expose curve
  • Connects directly, without adapters, to standard ophthalmic lasers
  • Available in 20ga, 23ga and 25ga

Directional

  • Straight during insertion to avoid bumping the lens
  • Pull button back to retract shaft and expose curve
  • Slide button forward to extend shaft to straight position
  • Downward curving fiber curves up to 90◦
  • Available in 20ga, 23ga and 25ga

Inverted Directional Laser Probes

Available in 20ga, 23ga and 25ga, the Inverted Directional Laser Probe has a unique design that provides better access to the anterior portion of the peripheral retina while holding the handle in a neutral position. Its other features include:

  • Straight during insertion to avoid bumping the lens
  • Slide button forward to extend custom curve from shaft
  • Slide button back to retract custom curve into shaft to straight position
  • Upward curving fiber curves up to 85◦

Straight Laser Probes

  • Available in 20ga, 23ga, 25ga and 27ga
  • Tapered micro-finished tip for smooth entry and added visibility

Curved Laser Probes

TruCurve™ Curved Laser Probes

An efficient yet high quality alternative for cost-conscious medical professionals, the distinct curve on the TruCurve™ laser probes allows the surgeon better access to the periphery of the eye. A typical curved laser probe is limited to approximately 15◦ of curvature to fit through the cannula. In comparison, the angle of the TruCurve™ probe is reduced in relation to the proximity of the tip, allowing the surgeon to reach regions of the eye normally reserved for Directional users. TruCurve™ laser probes will work on most competitor's lasers and will fit through reusable and disposable cannula systems, with the exception of the Alcon® 25+ TOTAL PLUS® Pak cannula system.

TruCurve™ laser probes are available in:

  • 20ga = 37◦
  • 23-25ga = 30◦
  • 27ga = 37◦

Curved Laser Probe, 22◦ Curve

  • Fixed curve at 22◦
  • Available in 20ga
  • Commonly used for treatment of the peripheral retina

Curved Laser Probe, 15◦ Curve

  • Fixed curve at 15◦
  • Available in 20ga
  • Commonly used for treatment of the peripheral retina

Illuminated Laser Probes

Straight Illuminated Laser Probes

  • Available in 20ga
  • Low numerical aperture laser fiber eliminates laser fiber extension tube
  • 6 illumination fibers provide high-quality, shadow-free illumination
  • Laser + illumination combination frees other hand for scleral indention

Curved Illuminated Laser Probes

  • Available in 20ga, 23ga and 25ga
  • Preferred 37◦ curve for optimal periphery viewing
  • Laser + illumination combination frees other hand for scleral indention
  • Comparable illumination levels of a 20ga light pipe
  • Polished fiber for consistent and superior burn
  • 2.5 mm extended laser fiber
  • Dual fiber, dual connector probe
